is there a way to make homemade incubator bedding for the eggs and hatchings.

You should be using wood chip (saw dust). Its really cheap, if you go to a pet store they have big bags for like 5 dollars.

Wood chip is the best for this also great for nesting bedding. Its really thick, which is great to prevent splayed legs. Where as something home made such as newspaper shreds, gets really flat really easily. So… yeah you should go out and get some wood chip
