Fraternity and social cause

There are form of fraternities like social fraternity, service fraternity, professional fraternity, educational fraternity, religious fraternity and others but out of these social fraternity is the most recognizable one. Fraternities and sororities were derived from the Latin words frater and soror which means brother and sister. These organizations are located in North America, Europe and also in other parts of the world. Generally fraternities are single sex and membership of the members is active during the undergraduate years and the exception here are professional fraternities and historically black sororities. The fraternity term is often shortened to frats and the sorority term is predated like alpha phi and pi beta phi. Sorority is a female only fraternity and the first word used for sorority is gamma phi beta.

Gamma phi beta is a social and an international sorority which was founded at Syracuse University on 11th of November in 1874. It has more than 160000 members, 120 active collegiate chapters and 171 alumnae groups in United States and Canada. The primary object of gamma phi beta is promoting the womanhood in its highest form. At first it was an international and social organization but later it became the supporter of women and they develop womanhood through education, humanity, social life and service to country.
