Invest in important aircraft supplies

Friday, August 28th, 2009

After getting your pilots’ license, make sure to get all the aircraft supplies in order. These are very important for a safe and secure flight. For all kinds of aviation supplies, either you can visit any aviation supply shop which stores all pilot supplies or if there are none in your area, then you even have the option of finding any kind of aircraft supplies online. Headsets, handheld receivers, GPS, aeronautical charts, tools, training textbooks, landing gear components, and complete range of pilot gear; you can find many things to choose from. If your budget does not allow you to buy a lot, then invest in something which is very important, like headset for example. Another absolute must is an aviation GPS. Many planes have in built GPS but not all. GPS or global positioning system is a valuable tool in case of trouble. it is very useful when the weather is bad or you venture into some unknown area. Garmin is a quality name in Aviation GPS and there are many models to choose from. Depending on the budget and features that you desire, you can invest in a good GPS.

Apart from these supplies, it is also very important to carry aircraft maintenance kits. Flashlight, tools, screw kit; and various other aircraft maintenance supplies come in very handy when there is a sudden problem which needs immediate repair.

A police spokesman said a bomb was fired late Monday and it exploded inside the boundary wall of the chief minister’s residence.

“The bomb landed inside the chief minister’s residential complex and damaged a private temple. Singh was present in his residence when the explosion took place,” a senior police official said requesting anonymity.

The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), a rebel group fighting for an independent homeland for the majority Metei community, claimed responsibility for the attack.

A PREPAK leader telephoned local newspaper offices to own up the attack.

Police and paramilitary troopers have since launched a massive combing operation in the area.

“All entry and exit routes have been sealed and efforts are being made to track down the rebels,” the official said.

The chief minister has escaped two other assassination attempts during the past four years.

I went to Royal caribbean and called. I have cingular. Does RC charge you the 7.95 ALONG with the Cingular’s 2.45?

Or how much does it charge?!?!?!
Because the costomer service thing on the ship said its both of them, but I’m looking around the site and its saying only cingular charges the 2.45 or w/e.

Give me a definant answer pelase? like how much it is?

You will only be charged by AT&T (AT&T bought Cingular). To find out what they will charge based on your particular plan, you should go to http://www.wireless.att.com/travelguide/… then click on “Cruise ships” above the locations tab. From there, select Royal Caribbean, and click Continue.

—-

Cell phones don’t work at all on many ships, so the thing to do is wait until you are on shore to make calls. For ships on which cell phones do work, there is often a fee, which is normally very expensive. You should contact the cruise line directly, and then when you get on board go to the Purser’s Office and ask there, too. What the land-based cruise company personnel say may or may not be accurate, but the Purser is who will handle all those charges. Absent emergency, it’s rather nice to be out of touch via phone! By the way, many ships have internet access available — for a fee — and you can both send and receive e-mail so long as there is no interference with the satellite. (Satellite issues effect TV and cell phones, too.)

i haven’t been on a plane in 10 years. i am 13 now. i remember somethings from it, like a conveyor belt. but for get the rest. i am going on a plane in november, and it will be i think a 2-4 hour flight. also, any tips for me on how to let the time pass?

Go to the airline desk, check your baggage and get your boarding pass.

Go to the security line, show your ID and boarding pass. You’ll have to put your purse, carry on bag, shoes, etc. in bins to go through the X-ray machine. (See link below for carry on restrictions.)

After going through the arch, collect your stuff, put your shoes back on, look at the board to see the location of your gate (which will be printed on your boarding pass), go there.

Bring a book, mp3 player, snacks, etc. The time will pass pretty quickly.

I’m connecting at Amsterdam Schiphol..?

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

<!– /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:”"; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:”Times New Roman”;} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} –>

My Aer Lingus flight leaves Belfast at 6:50am and arrives in AMS at 9:25am ( AMS time) my connecting flight with KLM is meant to leave at 13:40, so I have enough time to connect, have you ever connected @ Schiphol? Do you go have to go to baggage reclaim (although baggage will be forwarded on to next flight…I hope) and then look for connections sign or what??

No you don’t have to reclaim your bag. You will probably have to go from zone D to zone B (or similar) in which case your passport will be checked, but that’s about it.

Take a good book. There are loads of shops and an art gallery at Schiphol but not much else.

I suppose you could consider going into Amsterdam. You’ve got time, but it might be hassle if you don’t know the transport system or where you’re going.

BTW you will probably get two boarding cards at Belfast, so you’ll know which gate to go to at Schiphol. It’s all well signposted. There are also restaurants, so you could have lunch.

—–

The first answer is mostly correct. Your bag(s) will be automatically transferred to your continuing flight and all you have to do is walk to the gate.

However, I don’t believe you realistically have time to visit Amsterdam during your stop at AMS. It will take an hour to get downtown and an hour to get back to the airport (counting walking to/from the train station), plus you have to be back at AMS 2 full hours before your connecting flight. There are only 4 hours between flights for you, and that assumes your flight from Belfast arrives on schedule.

There is a small museum at AMS in addition to all the shops, restaurants, and cafes. Also check with your airline to see if you can purchase a 1-day pass to their airport lounge. Lounges offer a comfortable place to wait and drinks/snacks are inculded in the membership. Joining Priority Pass gives you access to lounges all over the world, including Belfast, Amsterdam, and probably wherever you are going: http://www.prioritypass.com/

Tuna Fishing

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Massachusetts offers some of the best waters for Tuna Fishing. Anglers from across the country flock to this pristine location where some of the finest Blue fin Tuna are found. When trolling for tuna, you will generally use many lines with lures at various distances in the boat’s wake as it trolls at speeds of around 10 knots. The reason that you use as many lines as possible is because it imitates the look of a school of bait fish.

It is the noise from the tuna fishing charter boat’s propeller that attracts the tuna, and when they come to the surface to investigate the noise, the will hopefully see the lures and jump on. When this occurs, multiple hookups can happen. At this point the hit rod will then be put into one of two fighting chairs. The boat is then slowed and the angler is able to reel in the fish. The only drawback to troll fishing is that the movement of the boat adds to the stress of fighting the fish and it can take a good bit of muscle to finally land a giant. Another method to employ when tuna fishing mass later in the season is to tempt the fish with bait. This becomes easier as the fish start to settle in a given area.

I have been on 3 cruises and a week from today we leave for our 4th cruise. It will be our 3rd cruise with Royal Caribbean. They are amazing. We like them a lot. We have never been disappointed with them.
